how to initialize softether vpn server

Post by howard » Tue Jun 11, 2013 8:42 am

Hi,I have set up the softether server on windows server2008(in campus lan network), and I want to use this server as a proxy server, I can connect to this server outside campus but I can't visit some webs of our school via proxy. So I want to set up the server again, and how to initialize the configuration? Thanks.

Hi Howard,

Do you mean websites internally for your school, where these are only available on the school LAN and not available externally? Check your name servers, if these are using external dns servers, then internally would not resolve for you. Updating to internal name resolution would help in this scenario.

I installed the softether server on a server of my lab, and I can connect to it with help of softether server(VPN), I want to use it as a proxy server to access the unavailable websites when I am out of school. Can you teach me how to configure?

You can initialize configuration in "Edit Config" on VPN server manager.
