Softether VPN Client for VPN Azure

Post by vpnbb » Wed Jun 04, 2014 11:09 am

Hi,

I have installed a Softether VPN Server with VPN Azure enable.

I have installed a Window 7 SSTP VPN Client. I works.

I would like to use the Softether VPN Client to access the VPN Server. However, it reported that there is protocol error. I have tried change the port number both in server and client. The result is negative.

Is there any tricks?

Hi,

Does your Windows Built-in SSTP VPN Client works well with VPN Azure?

If so, your SoftEther VPN Client should also work well. Please confirm that your destination server hostname is like "abc.vpnazure.net" and the port number is 443.

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

The window 7 SSTP VPN client works ok two days ago. But I cannot make it now.

There is Error 734: The PPP link control protocol was terminated. After verify user and password appears.

I have double check, the host name is correct ***.vpnazure.net which match with my server setting. The listening port in server is 443, 992, 1194 and 5555.

My Softether client setting is port 443. Whenever I connect to the server, it said there is protocol error.

I am staying in PRC, I am not sure it is due to VPN blocking.

On your attached screen shot, VPN Gate server function seems to be activated. The Great Firewall of China recentlly enrich its ability to detect running VPN Gate server to block. I suppose that your server might be marked as active VPN Gate server. Therefore the connecting attempt might be terminated on the GFW.

Disable the VPN Gate Server function on your VPN Server.
After that, change the global IP address of the VPN Server.
