Extreamly slow connection

Post by Loafter » Tue Jun 17, 2014 6:55 pm

I have question about slow vpn-connection
I create custom linux operation system (build linux kernel and softether from scratch).
Then i connect to vpn-server from my local network (i try different connection type Softether native, openVPN client, OSX LP2P client), i have only 1-2 megabits per second then i browse inet (speedtest result 1 megabits), but then i run torrent in same vpn-connection i have full isp speed (70 megabits ISP speed). Why? how Solve this?

I did a clean test. I joined the server and the client directly cable. Without a router. only 1 GB of cable.
Ran a speed test and got this result.
I first test result was 800/900 megabits in both directions. But the next test result was 980 megabits upload to server and 60 megabits download.
This is a great program)) Please Help to solve this problem!

Do you use SecureNAT? The SecureNAT function does not have good performance.
Anyway, we need more information about your environment.

In default setting, your virtual hub doesn't connect other networks except VPN client connection.
How do you access the Internet via the virtual hub?

Agreed.
Just for OP's information, i have multiple softether servers, running all over the world. My hubs are configed as nat bridges, no securenat used. I get stable performance, great speeds, and i generally love softether (minus it possibly having many backdoors, but i won't use it for mission-critical servers anyway).

А ты, жыпон хабровый, соси писю и ездий на метро ;) No offence.

ps. yes, russians are pirates, they use bittorrent 24/7 to get stolen movies, music, software. And they're generally so ignorant, that they post about this... Even complain, that 'my pirated movie download is slow! bad softether!!!'... Sick.

RIP MH17 passengers

Guys can not hear you
They want a great future for its development, and in the medicine to..

And what do you think I should use (OpenVpn, StrongSwan) ??
Many medical applications based on free software Linux-Kernel, X11, many were developed when they were in beta status. It's okay!

I noticed that when loading Softether I see it is supposed to load SoftEther "Freeware." The developers may release a commercial version made by the same technology.
I think the developers have big plans about softEther VPN server
