SoftEther client heavy I/O

Post by sebastien » Thu Aug 06, 2015 2:03 pm

Hi,

I have recently discovered that my SoftEther client (Windows 7 connected to Centos 6 vpn server) has a huge I/O consumption. For instance, during a VOIP (SIP) call through the tunnel, Process Explorer shows me :
- about 16 KB network receives bytes and send bytes delta (it's ok)
- no disk usage
- about 65 MB read bytes delta and 20 MB write bytes delta ????

It behaves the same way with a Windows 8 client.

I have made a comparison test using OpenVPN and the only visible I/O are network ones.

Has anybody ever encountered such behavior ? Is it normal ?

Thanks!

It's normal.
It's not I/O for real device.
It's for virtual network device polling.
