New Linux GUI client

Hello,
if somebody is interested, I am writing a Linux GUI for Softether vpnclient. It's a sort of reduced client of the Windows version, but with some additional features I found useful.
At this stage, it works launching basic connection commands. In a future version, I need to add some debug to check whether the connection was successful (you already see it, but some sort of auto-resume or auto-disconnect is necessary).

It currently supports Softether/L2tp-Ipsec/Openvpn connections. On separate panels, it syncs with vpngate.net servers and supports all those modes of connections. Auto-connect allows to search for a responsive vpngate.net server and connect to it automatically. It can also validate servers.

Each connection type can be edited through a basic text editor. There is also proxy and custom DNS support.

Some screenshots are attached.

Hello,

I'm highly interested in your linux GUI.

Is it possible to test it?

Hello again,

It seems that we can't send PM on this forum (or I couldn't find it...)

Ok, sorry, I was not monitoring the forum too much. I used the client from some time now and I find it pretty stable.

I don't know how to communicate if PMs are not enabled. If someone wants to email me, just use my nickname (devotedmystic), plus gmail, etc.

By the way, why don't host your interesting project on https://github.com/, it would be much better hosting your project there in my modest opinion.

Good luck (:

I haven't seen much posted on a Linux GUI. Are you still working on this? I also don't have the skills to put together a GUI, but I'd love to try using yours. I'd be willing to give you any feedback or results. I'm running Mint 17.2 on my laptop. I'd also appreciate any news on other projects involving putting together a GUI client for Linux. My main reason is to see if I could get it to work on my daughter's Chromebook in her Crouton setup. The girl's not afraid of a command line, but she's in school and doesn't have as much time to deal with something as heavy as the current command line client for Softether.

Hi devotedmystic,

I am also highly interested in your linux GUI. I am sure if it works like you said, there will be a lot of others interested in this as well.

I am using Linux Mint KDE 18.1 (Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial) and 17.3 (Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty). Does this require installing SoftEther Client first, or any other dependencies?

Is it possible to test it?

+1 for putting your project on GitHub as well.

Thank you...

FYI-1: I found this PPA for easily installing current versions of the SoftEther Server and Client, if anyone is Interested in this.

FYI-2: I do not see any method for PM or emailing through this forum either?
