Hello, First of all I am new into networking and VPNS.

I have a question about having a high ping on client side

Im from the Netherlands and currently I am living in Chile, so I wanted to watch dutch live television from my parents provider (ziggo), so I have set up a server on my fathers PC and everything works fine.

Untill I found out, I have a huge ping increase when I am connected to the server, (without VPN 210~) and with VPN connected (270-300), I always thought that connecting to a VPN will decrease the ping. (tell me if I am wronge)

So I wonder (if its possible) is there anyway to decrease the ping (like 210~ or even lower) ?
Or is this all I can get?
What u guys suggest me?
Please let me know :)

Vpn tunnel does not making any wonders in case of network packet traveling on the wire ,,, so I think it will not ping shorter from Chile to Holland .. packkets travel the same path with or without VPN in place..
