client not receiving ip address from server

Post by ac1977 » Tue May 31, 2016 5:47 pm

Hi All,

Server is running on Windows Server 2012 R2. Routing and remote access components have never been installed. Softether 4.20, B9608 installed. The client (Windows 7 and Windows 10) isn't the problem as I can replicate this from my PC. The server hardware is an ASRock Server motherboard - it has the Intel I210 Gigabit NIC onboard.

When the client connects, it connects OK to the Softether VPN server, but the client doesn't get an IP address from the server - it just ends up with a 169.x.x.x address. SecureNAT isn't in use.

Can someone please help with this? Thanks in advance for your help! I have attached the config.

Can you see IP addresses of localbridged network on virtual HUB IP address list?

Hi there,

Can you confirm where I should be looking please?

Is it "manage virtual hub" / "manage sessions" / (select the local bridge) then "IP table of selected session"?

I have gone into that session with it connected, and the list is totally blank there.

Thanks!

I think localbridge doesn't work.
Please check whether localbridge device is correct.

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply. The local bridge device does show up in the list. I have found what the problem is.

The machine has 2x NICs in it. Although I selected the one that appeared to be connected to the LAN, for some reason they were the wrong way around. I recreated the bridge with the other connection, and it works fine now.

Thanks for your help!
