Statistics by Connected IP for Mobile

Post by drewex » Tue Oct 30, 2018 10:27 pm

Hello all, I tried a few ios apps that track mobile data usage on wifi. One app actually shows i'm downloading 10gb to 20gb daily on my mobile which doesn't really tell me any details.
Another app (My Data Manager) uses VPN and sells the usage info (it says how they make their money) which feels like breach of privacy. It does say personal info isnt shared but they still see everything coming and going.

Now Im trying to do is something similar to this app with my own VPN. I installed VPN and setup is all good. the phone connects and creates a lot of log but I do not understand the log. I cannot find description of the fields anywhere.

here is an example record from log.
2018-10-30,11:41:30.333,SID-E-[L2TP]-6,SID-SECURENAT-5,CAB9D9CB3058,5E6B8F0F878B,0x0800,54,TCP_DATAv4,ACK,192.168.30.10,64463,17.249.12.90,5223,3687048690,893478022,WindowSize=65535,-,192.168.2.107,-

Is there an application to view these logs and get some statistics?
Or I can dump the data to an excel or sql DB and run some queries on this. 17.249.12.90 belongs to apple. but which one is the data amount transferred.

Also at one point I want to try to setup my router to connect to a VPN track all my devices and do a tracking from that(got an old linksys that doesnt have tracking or reporting anyking). but thats totally different subject.

If you export logs to the DB, you can sum up the packet size (8th field of the record).
