Recommended Windows OS

Post by zatco » Thu Jan 12, 2017 9:12 pm

Hello,

I will be installing a new Softether VPN server on Windows from Ubuntu in order to be able to authenticate with Active Directory.

Is it recommended I use a Windows Server 2012R2 or can I use a Windows 7/8/10 client install to run the VPN Server. Softether documentation does not have any recommendations regarding Windows that I can find.

This will be deployed on a VMWare VM so specs are not an issue. This will house around 110 VPN users.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Active Directory provides radius service, so I think you can use Ubuntu.
