VPN behind NAT pass-through

Post by konstrukce » Tue Mar 07, 2017 2:26 pm

Hello,

I'm having issue with inicializing VPN connection between computer inside of my network W (work network) and H (home network) using SoftEther.

We have router Archer MR200 from TP-Link which allows to pass-through these protocols PPTP, L2TP, IPsec, FTP, TFTP, H323, SIP.

My SoftEther server is installed on computer in network W with settings of http://www.vpnazure.net/en/ and when i try to connect to it either through client or build-in way of windows, it gives me errors (win 10 kind - tells me nothing. One was viable about PPP protocol being terminated)

Even if i tried to set the server up for L2TP protocol, setup the client as well and tried to join over softether itself it still didn't work.

Any advices or experience with same thing?

Good morning!

A first test is to see if you have the ports successfully opened.

Use telnet to try to connect to the address and the port. If it connects, then you at least know that you have all the firewall settings correct. If not, you need to see where the break down is.

Do this first and then see how it goes.

Hope this at least gets you started.

Could you confirm the destination is VPN Azure (vpnazure.net)?
Did you check the VPN server log?

I managed to connect to the server using SoftEther VPN client with vpnazure.net.
I see it connected on server part as well.

But i can't connect to any computer in server side private network after connecting with VPN. Is there possibility to see devices from server private network after connecting with VPN?

I have local bridge allowed and connected on both sides.

You can't see list of computers sometimes.
Please try IP address directly to access the computer.
