We're compiling a list of countries that are known to enforce internet censorship on their citizens.

These are countries that try to block or limit access to certain websites, apps or internet services:
- Iran
- China
- Russia
- North Korea
- India

Are you familiar with the situation in other countries? Please comment.

Your question is a bit too broad. All countries block certain things such as underage stuff etc.
I think question should be where the governments draw the line. Huge difference between keeping internet safe and invading peoples rights/privacy.

You can add all middle east countries to the list.
Also some countries literally plug off the internet (%99 bandwidth restriction) when there is an incident like bombing or on election days..

Very good points and I agree with you, different countries draw the line in different places when it comes to online censorship.

- Saudi Arabia
- Syria
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
- Turkmenistan

According to wikipedia, Turkmenistan runs the third most stringent censorship program in the world.

The internet censorship yearly recap shows around half the world’s population – about 4.2 billion - suffered a politically motivated internet blackout in 2022.
