proxy options within Softether VPN

Post by buxomoci » Thu Dec 12, 2019 3:25 am

Hello, for last couple of hours I am trying to set up proxy using Softether option.
VPN Client Manager works great and I am happy with that. But I need to use program at my work which needs proxy in order to connect to the server.
So I set up proxy (now without user and password)using SoftEther VPN Server Manager -> Dynamic DNS Setting ->Connect via Proxy Server-> Connect Via HTTP Proxy Server->Proxy Server Setting
What Host Name should I put into empty fields?
10.0.0.1 or 127.0.0.1 or mayby my server IP number?
I tried all above and proxy is not working.
Much appreciate any of your help in advance ;)

You can connect through a standard proxy server that supports the CONNECT method. Depending on the proxy server, the connection via the CONNECT method may only be allowed through port 443. In this case, set port 443 of the destination SoftEther VPN Server as the listener port in advance, and then try connecting to that port. By default, port 443 is enabled on VPN Server, but separate software products may also use the same port, so caution must be exercised.
