SoftEther VPN Client on Mobile Hotspot

Post by squatman » Sat Dec 14, 2024 9:53 am

Hi there,

I have a SoftEther VPN Server setup on Windows 11 in one location and a SoftEther VPN Client setup on Windows 11 in another location.

The SE VPN Client connects fine when using my home broadband internet.

If I'm remote away from home and I Tether/Mobile Hotspot to my iPhone, the SoftEther VPN Client gives the following error when I try to connect:
Error (Error Code 1):
Connection to the server failed. Check network connection and make sure that address and port number of destination server are correct.
The Windows Firewall on the SoftEther VPN Server has all ports open for the SoftEther VPN application.

The Modem/Router at the SoftEther Server must let the ports through as it worked when on home broadband.

I'm really unsure what setting I need to change, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
