VPN connected but can not see server in my network

Hello All!!

I have a really odd problem and question to you guys. Why, when I am having connection via VPN can not see server and can not assign the same homegroup for remote clients, only if they are in the same local network??

Starting from beginning to explain better my situation - I finally managed to get connection between clients and server, using this brilliant VPN SoftEther. However what I am getting now, is showing me connection on VPN but can not see server in my network, maybe because I can not assign local client to the same homegroup what is on the server? Its strange as on other client which has got the same windows version 8.1 I could see my server from different location, when that client was in local network I just managed assign it to the same homegroup, by leaving previous group and assign the new one what is on the server. Then to find out I will get access from outside I tested by logging wifi to different router and managed to see my server.
I found also that problem could be caused by:
- trial version/expired of Norton Security and McAfee - which we are having on two laptops - I am going to uninstall them but I don't believe that Norton/Mcaffe would block my server visibility in my local network, as I am having the same problem on my private computer, where I am not using them only free version of AVG
I will check also this tip (googled it):
adding the ip and server name to /windows/system32/tect/host file, as it worked for different user
Any idea what else could be apart antyvirus blocking?
Thanks for any help!

The only thing that SoftEther VPN is doing (if i'm not mistaken)
is creating a virtual HUB (like if it was a real HUB, but without the physical part),
which means that every client plugged in this hub (and possibly machines in a network bridged with the HUB)
are connected in the same ethernet (L2) segment and can communicate with each other with ethernet frames on their respective (virtual) ethernet adapters.
Nothing more.

If you want to solve a problem related with SoftEther you should not be doing that at Windows' Applications level
(OSI Lvl 5/6/7), but rather at Ethernet/IP level (OSI lvl 2/3)

SoftEther VPN client does not manage any of windows' Homegroup concept.
