Run UDP Server

Post by Nevada » Sat Apr 06, 2013 11:28 am

Hi there
i run my own VPN server and works fine but in some times my ISP's firewall block or limit TCP ports on my network. anyway i tested UDP ports with VPNGate and found it a good solution to pass my ISP's firewall because i found it most faster and stronger to get connect. (TCP has too much error's during get connecting because of ISP limits)

also i tried to run my server on UDP mode but i couldn't found any special settings for UDP and there was just TCP settings.

so how can i run my server on UDP/TCP mode? (like some of VPNGate servers)

tested again...
UDP mode is much faster than TCP once again!...
on my personal TCP server with secureNAT / client side: 2MB speed
on VPNGate public UDP server / client side: 4MB speed

yes i know but i tried /TCP and without that and that was same!

its not block, its just about low speed in some times of 24h.
in the nights i can use my full bandwidth with normal TCP connection but during the most times of the day i cant access more than half way because our government limited our networks specially secure TCP ports.

also i tried UDP mod on vpngate public servers at the same time and when i tried to connect UDP servers they were worked fine.

so how is possible i choose my connection mode? for example when you try on vpngate public servers some of them let you choose which mode you want to connect, TCP or UDP.
is it possible to do that on my own VPS?

or maybe i'm wrong and this issue is because of something else but i'm sure during the day when government push the network limits, my TCP connections are much slower than UDP mode or 443 HTTPS proxy.

any suggestion please?

Usually SoftEther VPN uses UDP mode at first.
There isn't any configuration to force using UDP mode.
