Android vpn setup

The instructions on the "How to setup" for android is a bit different than what I have.
On my android phone, I don't have the "advanced options" button, thus I can not input the forwarding route 0.0.0.0/0
what can I do?

If you use older version of Android, you don't see routing setup in VPN panel.

Does that mean I can not use this service with the 2.3.4 version? Or can I do have to take different steps to make this work?

This configuration is to communicate to the Internet via VPN connection.
If you want to connect remote office with VPN server, you can skip this configuration.

Can you please tell me how I can communicate with the internet via vpn with the android version 2.3.4 that I have?
