Hello,
We tried to setup a Local Bridge for accessing our fileserver (samba) using softether running on linux, using Windows VPN (softether) clients.
Who has a working example.
We are looking for some specifications (brand and type) of the hardware especially the used network cards.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Lud

I used other VPN server for it: xl2tpd+strpngswan.
Because of used ideology, SoftEther can not provide access to shares located at the same machine where it is installed with Samba also.

This is not true. You can't use localbridge to your (single) physical networkinterfaces and got also access to samba on the same machine.
But your solution can't do that too.
With SoftEther (and other vpn-software) you have multiple solutions:
a) use two interfaces
b) bridge to a tap-device and route the traffic to your network
c) bridge to a tap-device and make SNAT/MASQUERADE
I would say, you do a kind of c). Also works with SE....

My solution, you meant xl2tpd+strongswan ?
If you meant so you don' t right.
I have fully working such solution.
I access NetBios shares at Vpn server/Samba server.
And about your 'b' and 'c' advising, can you provide detailed desc ?

By the way, why not ?
I can access to NetBios shares at all other machines within Lan except Vpn server/Samba server.
