Number of TCP connections?

Hello all.

1. To SE VPN servers are connected to each other with cascade connection, first server 1Gbps port shaped to 300Mbps, second server 1Gbps port shaped to 100Mbps(shaping by providers) - how many TCP connections to setup and should i use Half-Duplex mode ?

2. SE VPN Client connected to Server with broadband link(100Mbps) - use of 8 TCP's? If this is ADSL connection - how many TCP's and same question about half duplex mode.

The best number of the TCP connections which establishes a VPN connection is depended on the actual environment.

1. If the UDP acceleration mode is enabled and activated, the number of TCP connections of the VPN tunnel does not matter.

2. Otherwise, changing the number can improve the performance. Generally, large-delaying lines need the large number of TCP connections to improve the throughput by parallel processing (max: 32 TCPs).

Yes, UDP acceleration is supported and active in my cascade connection. I've made 8 TCP's and see that they are connected. So I don't need to do that or better leave it at 8 TCP's if some UDP acceleration problems occur?

You are right. No need to concern about the number of TCP connections for a tunnel if UDP acceleration mode is activated. (Needs activated, not only enabled.)

How to activate it? Or it is activated by default? (I see in status page that supported: yes active:yes for cascade connection)

If the UDP acceleration mode is reported as "Supported" on the status screen of a VPN session, it is ok.
