SoftEther VPN User Forum

Fisrt off I would like to think everyone involved in this project. Setting it up to run on Windows 7 was so easy even I could do it, but my OS of choice is linux Ubuntu. I got the linux package, compiled and installed it easily enough and started it up with command

sudo ./vpnclient start

and got SoftEther VPN Client Service Started. I then used command

./vpncmd

and entered the SoftEther VPN Command Line Management Utility. At this point, everything was going smoothly. I created my virtual network adapters and used command

niclist

and got this:

The command completed successfully.

Now this is where I run into problems. When I use the accountImport command

accountimport

I have no idea which file to point it to. Here are the files in my vpnclient folder

Use this to import the VPN Connection Setting file that was exported by the AccountExport command and add it to the VPN Client.

And, generally, it would be good if you mentioned what are you trying to achieve in your experiment with SE.

Do you run a GUI version of linux?

Thanks inten, for your prompt, if somewhat sarcastic, reply. I ask you to please refer to the frist paragraph of second sentence of post. I didn't know there was a manual... should have, but didn't. I have a whole folder of third-party how-tos' that I googled and I'm one of those people to whom you have to explain things as if you were talking to a rock, but I digress. I am an American and since we are basically becoming a police state with the law being a corporate strong-arm, I just think what I do in the privacy of my own home is nobodys bussiness but my own. A great philosopher once said 'I don't want nobody to give me nothing... open up the door and I'll get it myself.' Thanks for opening the door. Yes I run a GUI, Ubuntu-Desktop. Now off to read that manual.
