./vpmcmd Issue

Post by rjackson » Thu Sep 04, 2014 12:53 am

Hello I just installed softether VPN on a CentOS, but when i try to run ./vpncmd it runs but after i press 1 for management then enter for local I get specify virtual hub name and since i am going to connect with server admin i hit enter..

This is when i get Error occurred. (Error code: 2)
Protocol error occurred. Error was returned from the destination server.

Does anyone know what i might have did wrong or how to fix this issue?

I fixed the above issue, now i can connect, I have tried local bridge and Virtual NAT/DHCP and i cannot get the client to communicate with the host network. if left dhcp it runs through assigning an IP after connecting but gives me 169.x.x.x and if i set it to a static with an IP range for my network, it does not communicate.

Am i missing a setting or something?

You should describe the solution so that people searching for the error message find something useful.

The 169.x.x.x link-local address indicates a DHCP failure.

If the virtual hub for VPN clients is bridged into a LAN with a DHCP server, then SecureNAT and Virtual NAT/DHCP should be disabled in the SoftEther configuration.
