Sofether VPN Server vs ESXI 5.1
hi all
i've got an ESXI 5.1 host. i installed a VM machine that runs windows server 2008 R2 on it.
when i try to establish a connection with my softether vpn server i received the network connection problem.
i installed another SoftEther VPN Server on a physical machine and its worked fine.
what the problem and which parameter do i need to change on my ESXI or my VM Machine ?
thank you in advanced.

No, I mean you're VM network type (to the host).

No in vsphere configuration of the virtual machine you can configure you're network as NAT or bridge.

Could you turn on promiscuous mode on your VM network settings?

I using ESXi 6.0, I have this issue too. I can get the IP settings from DHCP server , but I can't ping any hosts and can't browse the internet. I am not so familiar ESXi, Anyone can tell me how to change the network setting from NAT to bridge?

I'm not sure using 172.0.0.0/24 is a good idea as technically, that's not private address space. Your tech is correct.
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 would be valid.
I'd re-address to 172.16.x.x and go from there.
