I have such a strange problem.

My setup:
Debian with SoftEther VPN Server v4.10 Build 9505 (same problem with v4.04)
Server Type: Standalone Server
Says its running on a VM, but its not.
Server IP: 192.168.1.10 (eth0)
eth1: 192.168.1.11
Virtual Hub Name: HomeVPN
Bridge: HomeVPN on eth1, status Operating.

Client is a Windows 8.1 64-bit laptop.
I connect with the latest SoftEther VPN Client,

PING from Client-side:
ping 192.168.1.1 works (router which the Server uses)
ping 192.168.1.10 works (VPN Server eth0)
ping 192.168.1.11 works (VPN Server eth1)

PING from Server-side:
ping 192.168.1.1 works (router)
ping 192.168.1.105 works (The connected client)

average time for ping is 10-12ms.

So the problem:
Accessing shares \\192.168.1.10\users\ works. Users can see their files and folders.
Copying files or working with them does NOT work.
Surfing is near impossible.

Where do I start? I even tried reinstalling the VPN Server and Client software.

This is safe to ignore. Several lines in the SoftEther server status dialog return incorrect information for recent Linux systems.

This kind of problem is often caused by personal firewalls on the client computer. (eg: The VPN network was tagged as a "public network" instead of a "private network" in the Windows Firewall dialog, or an anti-virus scanner is trying to intercept SMB sessions.)

The easiest way to isolate for this problem is to connect to the SoftEther server with a clean client computer that does not have a personal firewall or anti-virus software. (Disabling such things is inadequate for troubleshooting; use a clean computer.)

Also check logs for warnings and error messages, particularly the SoftEther vpn_server.log and the /var/log/samba/log.* files on the server. Pastebin these files if you need technical interpretation.

Less likely things to look for are split routing, accidental or unnecessary NAT, DNS timeouts, and server resource exhaustion.

Nothing worked. And the only information I could find is this:

[HUB "HomeVPN"] Session "SID-LAB01-18": A large volume of broadcast packets has been detected. There are cases where packets are discarded based on the policy. The source MAC address is 00-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx, the source IP address is 192.168.1.105, the destination IP address is 224.0.0.252. The number of broadcast packets is equal to or larger than 48 items per 1 second (note this information is the result of mechanical analysis of part of the packets and could be incorrect).

Samba logs looks okay.
Antivirus and Firewalls disabled.

Tried different configurations, but nothing seems to work. Am I really the only one facing this particular problem? :)

Could you try to lower a MTU of virtual adapter of client?
