You connect to some sort of public server or you have your own IP server somewhere outside China?
I would like to know if the gateway is blocked, or the protocol.

Nor can I. I haven't been able to connect any VPNGate servers for over a week, either through TCP or UDP. I'm in mainland China. The error numbers are either 1 or 2.

中国以后估计VPN要全部封杀了，听说明年二月VPN要立法，禁止个人用户连接VPN 外企需要申请才能使用，目前还不知道是不是真的，不过可能性极大

即使使用最新版的SOFTETHER VPN CLIENT都无法使用啊！最糟糕的是能过邮件发给我的URL镜像列表也是无法访问WWW.VPNGATE.NET，让我无法得到最新的软件版本。

你们是用的自己的服务器还是VPN Gate？试过用自己的服务器没？
Are you guys experiencing blocking from your own SoftEther servers, or from VPN Gate? And if you're using VPN Gate, have you tried your own servers? Does that work?

guys dont even bother buying ExpressVPN...I use two ISP providers in China and both are real pain in the a$$...
ExpressVPN are constantly trying to find new servers in USA... since the HK servers are already overwhelmed...
the same goes for other VPN companies... it is only a matter of time when the Great Firewall finds out suspicious bandwidth to foreign servers...
since the Great Firewall has built in self learning mechanism how to find out non Chinese routes...
I have also tried out the a way from @Eiko, he posted here several posts that his server works...
I have done some searching on the web and it seems that you need to find a specific server that works for your ISP and your geographical location within China...
most difficult appears to be break out from the shitty China Telecom ISP... on the other hand China Unicom seems to be more easy to use foreign servers as rerouting...
you can PM me to find a solution which will be made individually...since that is the only way to lower the chances of being suspicious when sharing same IP on the larger VPN servers for rerouting...

@Eiko, no need to thank for anything... your server will not work on all the Chinese ISP and it will be discovered in the future by the firewall...unless you are willing to pay premium server which has CN2 partnership which is crazy expensive
