I am currently facing an anoying problem.. I am using a single server for home usage and whenever I connect to this server via SoftEtherVPN, I can ping every single device in the network except the server who I am connected to.

Say the network 192.168.2.0/24, server is 192.168.2.2, client receives 192.168.2.30 via DHCP.

The client can ping the main router (192.168.2.1) and any device in the network, but never the server 192.168.2.2.

Is there a logical explanation for that problem? Any of you capable of pingning your server while connected to the VPN?

VPN clients cannot contact any server IP address that is on a physical ethernet interface that is running an L2 bridge. This is why the SoftEther documentation recommends having a second physical ethernet interface in the server that is dedicated to L2 bridging.
