Cannot Access Windows 2008 Servers

I have a Windows 8.1 client connecting to a Windows 2008 based SoftEther VPN server. The client is having trouble connecting to Windows 2008 based servers. The client computer can connect to Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 2000 ans Windows 2003 computers but not Windows 2008 servers. From the Windows 2008 computers I cannot ping the SoftEther VPN interface but I can from all other computers. Anyone else experience this problem and have a solution for it?
