VPN client prevents hibernating

Hi All,
I have a SoftEther VPN server, Windows version, installed on a private network, and I can access it from outside, perfectly. But here is one issue I have on a client side.
Usually, I do not shutdown my laptop - instead, I send it to hibernate. But when I do so with the VPN connection active, it gets stuck. It's not exactly hanging, but it gets to a state with a display turned off, and HDD light blinking, which seems to last forever. And, as soon as there is no picture on the screen, there is nothing I can do about it, except turning it off brutally.
I thought, that maybe network gets dropped while the VPN client is still active, so I used settings to limit the number of reconnect attempts by number of 1, but that didn't help. So, the only option is to disconnect manually before hibernating, and then connect it back manually when on again. Which is hardly acceptable.. In other words, if you forget to do that, your Windows gets interrupted abnormally.
Please advice.
Server: SoftEther VPN 4.14 build 9529, on Windows 7 Enterprise 64
Client: SoftEther client, on Windows 7 Pro 64, installed recently (about mid Feb 2015)
