If I uderstand your problem, you must have a server with two network interfaces, one to provide internet access and the other to accept clients to your VPN server!

Setting the metric of the client's vpn adapter to a high value (e.g. 999) instead of automatic will take care that the client uses it's normal internet connection network adapter.
