Softether vpnclient on Ubuntu

Post by markhorrocks » Thu Jun 04, 2015 4:25 pm

I have both vpnserver and vpnclient installed from repo on an ubuntu aws server. The server appears to start on installation but the client does not.

1. Is there any way I can start the client on installation?

2. Is there a way to start the client on reboot?

3. Is there a way to connect a particular account on client startup without going into vpncmd?

4. Is there any way to ssh into the server using the vpn without installing the client on the server?

Actually, you don't need to install a vpn client. You can use casade connection to bridge two virtual hubs on two different servers. Then you may use tap device to connect the server into the network.

About the ssh, you can enable L2TP/IPsec and connect without the softether vpn client.
