The 192.168.30.1 comes from the DHCP gateway of the SecureNAT, but I cannot ping that IP but can do dns lookup.

Is this normal?

In my environment, I get ping answer.
What protocol do you use?

Both L2TP/IPsec and SoftEther VPN Client.

Does disabling both kernel mode and user mode NAT prevent 192.168.30.1 from responding to ping? I need the DNS function from the virtual NAT but do not want traffic to the internet going through it.

Why did you disable both mode NAT?
You should uncheck "use Virtual NAT function".

Disabling Virtual NAT will disable the virtual DNS, but I need the virtual DNS.
