I am new to Softether VPN (and VPN's in general) and using the 'latest beta' software (since yesterday) for simple home use.
I have setup the Softether VPN server on a Windows 10 PC and have it working using L2TP over IPSec and have forwarded UDP ports 500 and 4500 in my router etc.
The only two clients I use, when away from the home LAN is an Apple iPad and iPhone and they seem to be connecting and working okay so far (touch wood)... I can access files and view the server using RDP apps etc.
I have not implemented DDNS as I have a static IP address and so I disabled that in the config file and I have switched off all the other stuff that I don't use... Open DNS etc.
However I have now encountered one small problem... If I put the Windows 10 PC into 'sleep' mode overnight and resume the next morning ... Then for some reason I can't connect to the VPN... If I then reboot the Windows 10 PC, then all starts working again just fine.
I assume the Softether VPN service is not resuming properly when the PC is returning from sleep mode.
I have a solution (fix) which is to use the Windows task scheduler to reboot the PC at certain times after wake-up, but I was wondering if anyone here has encountered this issue with Softether VPN software before and perhaps may have a better solution to fix this issue.
This is my first post, so I would also like to say 'Hi' to everyone here and I do appreciate I have a lot to still learn about this software... So forgive me if I ask (or say) some stupid things in the coming days/weeks, as I begin get to grips with this new venture into tunnelling over the net.
Kind Regards...
Ken

Does the problem solve when restarting the VPN service instead of PC reboot.

Yes if I go to the services via the Windows control panel in administrative tools and 'stop' and 'restart' the Softether VPN service, the connections will work again. I have simply scheduled to reboot my own PC after it wakes up, as I can't restart the VPN service from a remote location.
I was just highlighting the fact that the current Softether server beta, seems to fail, if the Windows PC falls into sleep mode... There is no easy way to restart the service from a remote location, without being able to connect to the LAN network or server PC.

Is there any log in the VPN server?
