SoftEther & FreeRADIUS

Post by limskey » Thu Jul 04, 2019 1:04 am

hi there, so I installed SoftEther & FreeRadius onto two different VPS. I have a website I would like users to log into and authenticate over to the RADIUS server to allow access to the SoftEther. I've added the * user, opened up ports 1812 & 1813 but still no joy. I can't get any user to authenticate via RADIUS but directly to the SoftEther server, no issues.. I keep getting the below error. all ports on the firewall are open right now for testing.

Error: Ignoring request to auth address * port 1812 bound to server default from unknown client xx.xx.xx.xx <-- redacted for security reasons.

does anyone know what this is or what I could be possibly doing wrong? thanks in advance.

Do we need to buy an SoftEther license to make this work?
Configuring freeradius, it seems that SE does not send any request to the freeradius.
