Administration from Linux

Hi,
Looking at this fine project, I'm noticing that the docs are based on GUI tools that are Windows and MAC only. Is anyone managing to set this up using Linux for administration? Are there documents elsewhere pertinent to doing so for connections between cloud environments? I've looked at the vpncmd tool, but it's unclear how to follow GUI-based examples using it.
