High I/O load - 3500Tb in 52 days

Has anyone seen this before, this attached image is with a server that has been running since 10-Jan so some 52 days, 1248 hours:
8.5 billion I/O reads, 175,000 I/O writes
I've just stopped the service and restarted and after 1 minute we get:
I/O read = 61,529,306,129 bytes = 61Gb?!
I/O write= 639,753,263 = 640Mb
I/O read = 155,003
I/O writes = 1637
so 1Gb/sec I/O read, 10Mb/sec write
Obviously the original totals is with it having been in use for 2-3 people max.
The 1 minute above was of course with no-one connected.
Running 4.31 build 9727 but was doing it previously with V4.30 too, haven't yet put on 4.32
There is no actual hard disc activity from vpnserver.exe
After 8 minutes of running it is already showing more I/O Read Bytes than the Virus Protection has done in the last 52 days. Give it about 16 hours or so and it will have passed the Backup Exec 50Tb usage for the last 52 days...
