Howto run SSTP on Android?
hi, hv setup the latest SE on a Ubuntu 19.10 and test everything is working from the PC(Windows 7) by connecting using SE, OpenVPN, L2TP & MS-SSTP
would like to know how to setup a Android phone to connect using SSTP? its working fine if i use L2TP & OpenVPN, but would like to use SSTP instead
hv search the internet and found Cisco Anyconnect. hv download the cert into the phone, but it will always ask for a password when trying to import the cert into Anyconnect when theres no password set. More search online mention this is a 'bug' and we need to have a password for the certificates for it to work
so my question is -
1) how do we create a password protected certificate? am using SE tools now to create the cert - ServerCertRegenerate [CA]
2) or is there another(free & stable) way to use SSTP on Android?
Thank you,

Re: Howto run SSTP on Android?
why you need this? it is microsoft protocol over port 443? it is only on windows systems?
softether has got its own protocoll over 443, I compiled client from source fro Android but to start it is a bit complicated inside terminal window
i have also openvpn and it is easy on click - unfortunately it doesnot work with static address, there MUST be dhcp server on server side

I hv got other connection type working for my Android phone, the reason I need MS-SSTP is because I need multi-protocol(method). Can you advice on howto?sky59 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 8:26 pmwhy you need this? it is microsoft protocol over port 443? it is only on windows systems?

Re: Howto run SSTP on Android?
I am afraid it is possible. It is for Windows.
And there is of course equivalent - genuine SE protocol over 443, why would one need this to run SSTP on Android?
also I do not understand why you need "multiprotocol"? is openvpn working? if yes be happy

I believe it is totally Possible with Android. There is a paid apps but I would prefer something free
And to answer you again - it is for experimenting. L2TP and OpenVPN is working fine, but would like to explore all the options.
Thanks,

hi, you mean the compiled SE client will work on Android and connects with SSTP? if yes, could you provide us the link on how could we do that?
p/s - dont want to give them(subscription/paid) free advertisement here, just search on google for Android VPN SSTP client and you will find them

I do not know if it is 100% compatible with sstp but is also uses port 443, so it can pass every firewall

Just download VPN Client Pro from the Play store and that's it. That's how I connect to all my VPN servers

Well you got no other option then. Find a patched apk for that app if you don't want to pay.aboka wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 1:46 pmThanks but no thanks as i prefer not paying. I dont think thats true, will keep trying. First using OpenSSL and then maybe the open source project on GitHub for this. Thanks.OliverTejada wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 3:21 pmWell you got no other option then.
