SoftEther openvpn via certificates

Hi,
I'd like to connect clients (e.g. my laptop but also different PLCs) using openvpn via certificates with the vpn server. However, in older discussions I read that SoftEther is not supporting this but here (https://github.com/SoftEtherVPN/SoftEth ... 45910101cf) it seems as if it was fixed... So what is the case right now? I'm currently using version V4.34 Build 9745
Is there a way to do it with certificates?
So far I managed to connect with user/password authentication (which does not work for PLCs) but not with certificates....
