MySQL database through VPN

Hello, is it possible to connect to a remote MySQL database through VPN? I have access to all files but trying to access the database I have an access denied error? If possible, may I have detailed instructions?

It's just like any traffic, If you can access it from the vpn's server network, you can access it from the vpn.
