How do I reset configuration to see the "Easy Setup" GUI?

Post by Mikexx » Mon Jan 17, 2022 9:52 pm

I have reinstalled SoftEther Bridge after an unsuccessful attempt with full server installation.

I am a newbie to this and I was hoping to see the Easy Setup GUIs.

However, I didn't see these and even when I create a new "Connection Settings for VPN Server" and hit connect it assumed the User Name is Administrator. While historically I know the password, the next screen is the "Manage VPN Bridge "localhost".

How can I (re)start from scratch?

  1. uninstall current version
  2. delete SoftEther's folder from "Program Files"
  3. remove the following registry keys

Code: Select all

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SoftEther Corporation]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SoftEther Project]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\University of Tsukuba]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftEther Project]

Many thanks, it worked. There were also residual versions of the server as well as client directories so deleted these too.
BTW I didn't find:
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\University of Tsukuba]
Or indeed any reference to "Tsukuba" in the registry apart from cached references to programs.
