Hi everyone..
I have been a long-time user of the Softether vpngate client on windows and I am a huge fan of this fantastic project.. I have used Softether vpngate software for around 3 years without a single compalint..
I recently started using Debian Linux X64 bit and was met with the same complaint as "Captainkent" posted earlier.. All my attempts to try to make have ended with:
"/usr/bin/ld: lib/libintelaes.a(intel_aes.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata.str1.1' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC"
Here is the list of my detailed info as requested in the Master thread of the forum:
1. Operating system name and the type of CPU-bits: Linux-Debian X64 [ core2duo E8400 intel CPU/ intel G31 chipset / 4GB DDR2 RAM ]
2. The result of "ifconfig –a" :
eth0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 183.83.221.161 netmask 255.255.224.0 broadcast 183.83.223.255

3. The result of "uname –a" :
Linux ik-pc 4.8.0-10.1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 4.8-14 (2016-11-21) x86_64 GNU/Linux
4. The build number of SoftEther VPN:
softether-src-v4.21-9613-beta.tar.gz (Latest Beta dated 24-04-2016)
5. Which SoftEther VPN component are you using?
Trying to compile vpnclient
6. Whether or not there is a NAT or Firewall between your VPN server and the Internet ?
No NAT only a software firewall but this does not apply, as there is an error in the compilation itself..
7. Are you using SecureNAT?
this does not apply, as there is a compile error..
8. Your current vpn_server.config or vpn_bridge.config file:
does not apply, as there is a compile error..
Any other info I would be more than happy to provide, if needed.. I am also posting a screen-grab of the error message I am getting.. http://i.imgur.com/3vxcrSO.jpg

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!!
