Bridge with PD Ipv6

Post by yangman » Tue Jun 13, 2023 4:02 am

Hi guys. I have already deployed a running server using local bridge instead of secureNAT, with one flaw: no ipv6 distributed by the vpn server when connecting to it. Thus I have been searching for ways and there are some solutions. Like these two examples:

viewtopic.php?t=66840

Problem lies in that the above two instances use ipv6 NAT, which is not that great. What I want is SLAAC PD IPv6 by vpn server.

I once used dhcpcd and wide-dhcpv6-client on linux routers to get PD SLAAC ipv6 for the lan. I think the vpn server functions exactly like a router, while remote clients are like lan devices.

But in this case of softether vpn server, it's not that simple. It seems the tap_XXXX NIC does not function as a normal NIC, which can't be configured in /etc/network/interfaces and can't be auto configured by PD client like dhcpcd or wide-dhcpv6-client.

Need help on how to set up slaac pd ipv6 on softerether local bridge.
