Speed Limit
Good afternoon.
I deployed the SoftEther VPN server on my deb12 server, successfully configured it and can connect to it, but unfortunately I was faced with a lack of information about setting speed limits. My computer and server both support speeds of up to 1Gbit/s, but unfortunately the VPN gives me less than 100Mbit/s, something around 70-80Mbit/s. Please tell me this is a software limitation or did I make a mistake in the settings? Please also share information about further configuration for clients, for example, I want to limit everyone’s speed to 300 Mbit/s.
Please ask questions about my settings, I will be happy to share them, but please share information on how to show you certain settings because I’m still a beginner.

Re: Speed Limit
Here are speed tests from the server and on my computer with and without VPN enabled.

I’ll also add that earlier, out of curiosity, I installed squid on the same server and configured an https proxy on it, the speed when using squid was normal, over 500mbps

Re-read, post #1 #2 #3 and include CPU%.

Wait, your partial result...
...shows that it isn't a 1Gbps server. Case closed?

Re: Speed Limit
Previously I attached an Internet connection test from "speedtest" and it shows that my server is 1gbps. So I used the command as stated in another forum thread, but it does not show the load on the processor, so I opened htop in parallel, running the test and unfortunately my processor is heavily loaded, the screenshot is below the link. Also a question, I chose softether because it claims to be a very optimized application, should it cause such a load?

Re: Speed Limit
The #1 test you posted has nothing to do with VPN connection's CPU load.
If you observe high CPU usage on test #2, check "Bridge not working as expected"
TLDR - use a local bridge instead of SecureNAT and/or upgrade to v5 DE.

Re: Speed Limit
Thank you very much for trying to help me, but unfortunately I don’t quite understand what actions I need to take, and I also couldn’t find the DE v5 archive.
Could you please describe the step-by-step actions and send a direct link to the DE v5 archive.
Sorry for my ignorance.

Re: Speed Limit
Thanks for the link provided. I downloaded and configured DE v5 after stopping and uninstalling the old version. The client successfully connects to the server, but the speed has dropped to 20mbps and the processor load is off the charts; I have not previously observed increased load during connection. Below I am attaching a screenshot of the load and speed, as well as the result of checking with the command “vpncmd /tools /cmd TrafficClient speed.softether.com:9821”

Re: Speed Limit
Your shared VPS with 2GB RAM may be actually overloaded by other CPU users. If you are absolutely sure that there is nothing wrong with the VPS, submit your case here https://github.com/SoftEtherVPN/SoftEtherVPN/issues
