VPN Network Communication Issue

I have Softether working where i can get an ip address from the DHCP server and if i IPCONFIG it shows the correct domain and dhcp/dns servers but i cannot ping nor connect to anything on the network. Any guidance in this would be great. Not sure if it has anything to do with it but the default security policy is deny local bridging and ipv4 routing.

Hi Mgoddard2013,

Are you running SoftEther in a virtual machine? This issue may be due to "MAC address spoofing" not being enabled, which SoftEther requires.

Thanks

Correct sir i am running this on a VM. Would this have to do with the promiscuous mode that it mentioned when i created the local bridge.

Yes, this must be enabled on the VM's network adapter.

To do this in Hyper-V, look in "Advanced Features" for the network adapter for "MAC Address Spoofing"

For VMWare, enable "Promiscuous Mode" under the network adapter's security configuration.

Thanks,
Reshad
