Bridge suddenly stoppet working on Server 2022

I have a setup that has been running unchanged on a couple of different servers since 2018 to connect my cabin to my house. But during that last time (not really sure when, I haven't used it for a week or two) it stopped working. According to the bridge it's connected, and the server shows that there is a connected client, but shouldn't there be a network adapter visible in the adapter settings of Network and sharing center? There is nothing SoftEther. Can this be a Windows Update that has messed up the system? I can not ping 192.168.0.2 on the bridge computer (the house server 2022) or 192.168.2.2 on the server computer (the cabin server 2022). Still it says that the connection is online. What should I do? I haven't touched it for seven years (except for updates, my version is 4.42). So what I learnt when I set it up has mostly disappeared from my almost 60 year old brain.

Sorry, the client/bridge setup must have been corrupted. I was unable to stop it, so I set it to disabled in services, rebooted (which took five minutes, probably because of the hung service) and then I could install the same version again, and now it works!
