administrator password
Hi
I have just re-installed the softether vpn after a long break (maybe one year or more) and it is asking me for administrator password which ai cannot remember and there is no 'forgot my password' type of link or help in the box. What can I do please?
PS This forum includes so many technical acronyms that i cannot understand
Thanks

Thanks thisjun, I really appreciate your reply.
So now I have to download the softether vpn program again, re-install with a new password, is that right?

Find VPN configure file and remove the line with encrypted password.

Thanks Nemesiz, but how do I find the VPN configure file in the first place? searching under vpn from the start menu returns nothing (am using windows 7 still). Cheers.

Re: administrator password
hi, you need to specify what Operating System you are using and as much relate info as possible so others could help and give more details in their answer.
base on the info here, i would suggest -
start the installation again, note down the installation path/folder then cancel the installation:
option#1 go into the location and edit the config file and erase the line with encrypted password(am not sure about this as im not using Windows). the name of the config file on linux is vpn_server.config. so look for something similar. you hvto right click and choose Open with - Notepad. do remember to make a backup of the file before doing anything
option#2 else just do a un-installation using Add/Remove program in your Control panel, then delete the folder earlier, reboot and do a clean installation
good luck,
