Good Morning
been using softether vpn for a while but i wanted to try and install it per user instead of per computer
during the client install, there is a tick box for advanced install options for experts but the only install on the enviroment of the user is greyed out.
how can i enable this option and install softether per user?
Thanks

Re: Softether Advanced Client Install Options
Not an option for SoftEther Client.2.3. User-mode Installation
You can install SoftEther VPN Server and SoftEther VPN Bridge as "User-mode"
on Windows. In other words, even if you don't have Windows system
administrator's privileges, you can install SoftEther VPN as a normal user.
User-mode install will disable a few functions, however other most functions
work well. Therefore, for example, an employee can install SoftEther VPN
Server on the computer in the office network, and he will be able to connect
to the server from his home...

Re: Softether Advanced Client Install Options
No. While the client installer is compiled separately from Server/Bridge, their source code is common and shared among SoftEther components.
Code: Select all
R_SHOWCUSTOM &Advanced Install Options for Experts
R_FOR_SYSTEM Install on &Windows of this Computer Entirely
R_FOR_USER Install only on the Environment of User "%s"
S_WARNING Caution: Not recommended. After the user "%s" logs off Windows, %s will stop. Local Bridge function and L2TP/IPsec Function (supports for Mac and Smartphones) will be unavailable.

Re: Softether Advanced Client Install Options
SoftEther Client runs as a service on Windows, which means it always requires the administrative right.
Use the built-in VPN client (L2TP or SSTP) for per-user environments.
