VPN DHCP

Post by dilshad » Wed May 13, 2015 7:02 am

Hello,

I've a problem with DHCP server ?! The below is my issue :

I've one SoftEther CPN Server installed on one of my PC after the NAT. It has one NIC and configured locally with one Static IP. The DHCP server is my main router, which also has the NAT configured.

The problem is that the SofEther VPN ((( SERVER ))) also provide a DHCP with another range ?! So How can I avoid the conflict of IPs ?

Thank you,
Dilshad.

If you use local bridge, you don't need to use the DHCP provided by softether vpn server because your router will assign IPs to the VPN clients.

If you are using SecureNAT, make sure they are in different subnets.

Thank you very much for your reply kh_tsang..

Please bear me with some more questions:

How can I make it local bridge cause I think that both the Secure NAT and the use of virtual DHCP is enabled?

And is it secure NOT to use the "Secure NAT "

Thank you,

You may disable SecureNAT and enable local bridge. After that, the clients can obtain IPs from the DHCP on your network.

SecureNAT is just adding an NAT device to your virtual hub. I don't think it is anything about security.
