VPN is active but ip does not change on vpngate

hi i am new to using the SoftEther Vpn client manager. When i try to use the public vpn relay servers, I successfully connect, they provide an ip to me, I can see that the vpn client is there on my list of networks. But the thing is, my public ip is still not changed, so I think my traffic is not routed through the vpn gate connection.
On vpngate.net, I think im supposed to expect the ip displayed there is supposed to change when I connect to the vpn. But it does not change

Am i doing something wrong here?

refreshing the page does not change anything. I have also tried hard refreshing, using a different browser, resetting my pc.
