SoftEther VPN client stuck on “Verifying Certificate” (Error Code 2)

Hello everyone,

I’m having an issue connecting to a SoftEther VPN server. When I try to connect, the process gets stuck at “Verifying Certificate” and after some time it fails with this error

I am located in Iran, and currently the internet here is under very heavy filtering, DPI, and protocol-level restrictions. Many VPN protocols and encrypted handshakes are actively interfered with or blocked, which may be related to this issue

Yes, they are blocking VPNs. Get your server's certificate and on SE client enable "Always Verify Server Certificate" and "Specify Individual Cert".

How's it now?

Thanks for the suggestion.
I’m using public SoftEther servers, so I don’t have access to the server’s certificate.
Because of that, I can’t use the “Specify Individual Certificate” option.
If you have any alternative suggestions for public servers under heavy DPI conditions, I’d appreciate it.

Try it on UDP and if it works, in SE manager create VPN connection like this viewtopic.php?t=69953#p104376
