Able to connect to another country but IP doesn't change.

I'm using the SoftEther VPN Client Manager to connect to a Japanese IP so I can download Black Desert. After it's successfully connected to the IP, I check http://www.vpngate.net/en/ to see if my location has changed but it never does.

I know it isn't changing it as when I try to load up the Black Desert Japanese website, it never loads (Only people with Japanese IPs can connect).

I've tried several other IPs from different countries and I encounter the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated!

I think I solved the problem. Do you use AVG?

that's the issue. I removed AVG and installed another free anti-virus (Avast) and the VPN suddenly started working.

i disabled avg firewall and even disabled avg, still not working

edit: i'm looking at http://www.vpngate.net/en/howto_softether.aspx and i realized i never actually received an assigned ip address like i'm supposed to be

I believe I tried disabling the antivirus too. I'd recommend you entirely remove it, install Avast (highly rated free antivirus) and try it once more.

yeah it works now that i uninstalled it
disabling avg isn't enough apparently
