VPN Android (Unsuccessful Error)
Before I begin I know this is the 1,000th msg on this & I'm sorry but I read all documentation and follow every step but I tried VPN Android and get the Unsuccessful msg every time! Working on this over a week and any help would be amazingly appreciated! This is the S/W of my dreams as I'm a Net Engineer; can't believe I can't get this to work!?
Google Android phone (latest build 5.1.1) using home wifi to VPN to my pc which is hosting the VPN server. Tried w/wo Bridge. The Local Bridge setting setup w/ only 1 NIC b/c it's just my computer and it connects directly to my router (C7 Archer). Forwarded ports 500 & 4500 on router do I need to need to mess with the settings on my pc F/W? Just did fresh install Win8.1 Pro with Avast antivirus. Do I need to setup SecureNAT b/c it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the documentation?
I tracert/nslookup the Dyn DNS name I created and it resolves to my IP no problem. I specify my username with @ and virtual hub name on my phone .
Did everything recommended with defaults & Read all these tutorials:

Re: VPN Android (Unsuccessful)
Update, I still can't get this to work on either my Android or work iPhone. However I tried the client for pc and established immediately. Leading me to believe that the updated s/w on the phones are incompatible but not certain. Would really like if any SA's or moderators on the site would please confirm or assist me on this issue been trying this for over 2 weeks & I'm at a dead end... PLEASE HELP!?

Re: VPN Android (Unsuccessful)
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 (Android Lollipop) and L2TP/IPsec and OpenVPN works as expected. So I think you have still a configuration error your client is behind a restricted firewall (blocking IPsec).
Did you forward Port 500 and 4500 as UDP or TCP? (UDP is needed).
Did have "Client-Network" and "Home-Network" thes ame or overlapping subnets?
( like 192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 or 192.168.0.0/16 and 192.168.1.0/24). If yes, try without any "route informations" in the android settings.
My Settings are:
Name: "something"
Typ: "L2TP/IPSec PSK"
Address: "myDynDomain.de"
L2TP-Key: (not used)
IPSec-ID: (not used)
Preshared IPSec Key: "myPSK"
DNS-Subdomain (not used)
DNS-Server (not used)
Forwardingroutes: (not used)
(or: 10.10.0.0/16....for your Archer C7 with default config should it be 192.168.1.0/24..but I would test with "not used" first)
Whats your Server-OS?

Re: VPN Android (Unsuccessful)
@qupfer
Working now thanks! Here's the scoop:
Regarding C7, you are correct, while I manually updated the port configuration and made a static DHCP assignment to my pc and static IP with Virtual Server (VS) ports but when I changed my IP scope from 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.0.0/24, the VS IP:Port relationship wasn't updated which I assumed and therefore wasn't routing obviously.
So SoftEther works like a charm as I imagined and was able to connect immediately afterwards from my android phone... thank you, thank you!!!
Hopefully that's the end of my user error's and I can start building a VPN network & remoting from work of course :D

Re: VPN Android (Unsuccessful)
Same problem here, but the solution doesn't work for me.
PC Client works ok. Android connected to the same net as the client PC that works, doesn't connect. Android connected via LTE (so, different IP/mask/...) doesn't work.
Any clues?
