try Install server on Raspberry PI cannot "make" from source
there is no deb package for the Raspberry PI h/w
should be easy to compile from source code,
doesn't work for me.
Anyone do it ? How ?

Re: try Install server on Raspberry PI cannot "make" from so
From a terminal use wget to download the software:
wget http://www.softether-download.com/files ... bit.tar.gz
Decompress it:
tar zxvf softether-vpnserver-v2.00-9387-rtm-2013.09.16-linux-arm_eabi-32bit.tar.gz
Compile it:
cd vpnserver
sudo make

Re: try Install server on Raspberry PI cannot "make" from so
mesa57,
I am running SoftEther on a Raspberry Pi and it is pretty faster with one or two connections. I would like to see the limitations on its performance. I was able to access network drives and my media server from a remote location with quick performance, but my Raspberry Pi is only running three services ... A Wakeup-On-LAN, the VPN server, and a VNC server. I will test additional users when I can recruit family and friends to make multiple VPN connections and the same time. I will let you know what happens.
Thanks,
brlathanjr

On the raspberry I get 2-3 Mb/sec whilest when Softether is installed on a PC I get 7-9 Mb/sec. Measured with LanSpeedTest.

mesa57,
Could you tell me how you did your speed test? I am curious so I can run the same type of test. Thanks!

Download LanSpeedTest here :
http://www.totusoft.com/lanspeed.html
You can then execute the test by accessing a shared folder over the vpn network.
Btw, my internet connection is 60/5 on server side and 150/15 Mb on client side.

Re: try Install server on Raspberry PI cannot "make" from so
Download/Upload
Client 14.20 Mbps/12.60 Mbps
Server 17.15 Mbps/12.14 Mbps
VPN 4.80 Mbps/ 0.40 Mbps
The client I was using is my smartphone. Interestingly when I was at work access the VPN my performance was 2.8 Mbps / 2.8 Mbps
It seems like that should be good for 2 to 4 if they are using heavy traffic. I am thinking maybe even up to 10 or more if light internet surfing. What do you think?

Re: try Install server on Raspberry PI cannot "make" from so
During a lanspeedtest I see the cpu of the raspberry (model B) going to 100%. So it is stressed to it limits. But if you are comfortable with the speed, why not use it ?
I tested in a real live situation with the raspberry and PC located at one location and my PC some 120 km's away.
You're VPN upload test btw shows a strange low value.

Re: try Install server on Raspberry PI cannot "make" from so
With gcc 4.9.2 it fails to compile in Raspberry pi 3 (any source code, RTM or Beta, or from GIT).
I have installed a previous gcc/g++ (gcc-4.7/g++-4.7) version in order to compile it (RTM version that i tried) and specify in the Makefile CC=gcc-4.7 before successful compiling.

Re: try Install server on Raspberry PI cannot "make" from so
I have two raspberry pi 1B models where i was initially running v4.03-9408-rtm, then upgraded to v4.20-9608-rtm (running without problems for some time), a raspberry pi 3b model with v4.20-9608-rtm all of them compiled from source without problems (as long the package requirements are met). I checked and none of them had gcc version 4.9.x. The last raspberry pi 3 i got, refused to get the source code compiled with this gcc (4.9.2) version for any source release.

Please install readline.
./src/Mayaqua/Mayaqua.h:257:31: fatal error: readline/readline.h: No such file or directory
SoftEther VPN require some libraries.
